Gades is the most fearsome Sinistral, at least in appearance and abilities. He is the Sinistral of Destruction, and deals in his trade extremely well. He is the first Sinistral you see, finding him in the kingdom of Sheran... a kingdom that he has just destroyed by his own hands. He challenges the Hero to a fight, and the Hero accepts while Lufia and the Survivors run back to Alekia for help. The Hero is outmatched quickly, however, and is struck down by a single blow from Gades. Gades is a little different from the other Sinistrals when you fight him. Unlike other "strongmen", he can use some deadly magic spells. However, also contrary to "Strongmen", Gades has the lowest lifetotal of the four Sinistrals. Mirrors will not help you at all in your battles against Gades, and his attacks can lower your life significantly (especially Jerin), but keeping some shields up will lessen the force of his blows. This is hardly necessary, however, since it only takes a few good hits to bring the Master of Destruction to his knees. |
