The name of the Hero in this game is left up to you. He is the descendent of Maxim, the destroyer of the Sinistrals. As a child, he is under the care of Roman, an innkeeper in the kingdom of Alekia. One day, while talking to Roman, a little girl runs into the Inn. The Hero asks her name and where her parents are, and she responds " My name is Lufia." This is enough for the Hero, and he and the little girl run off playing "tag." About six years later, the Hero has joined the Alekian Knights. While the Knights are supposed to protect the peace, 99 years of tranquility have turned the knights lazy. Hero is the only man that has any work ethic, and it frustrates him. He heads back to the Inn where Lufia is making cinnamon pie, and sits down to have a bite. He hears two strangers talking, and they say that the kingdom of Sheran has been overrun by monsters. the Hero is sent to Sheran to investigate the rumor, where he finds the city ransacked. With several trips between Alekia and Sheran, the Hero and Lufia manage to save the king of Sheran. When they are leaving Sheran Castle, however, the Hero is attacked by Gades, the Sinistral of Destruction. After that, the Hero departs with Lufia to investigate the mystery of the attack, and the mysterious return of Gades. The Hero is a very well-rounded warrior, who can dish out a ton of punishment while suing some magic. His magic is limited to Cure spells, but that just makes him all the more powerful. Complemented by Lufia who can use attack spells, the duo makes an unbeatable pair. In the early stages of the game, use the Hero to attack, and Lufia to use potions and the spell Flash. |
