Vinzer Deling

Vinzer Deling starts to act like the antagonist in Final Fantasy 8, but quickly is "forced" to step down by Edea. He is the corrupt president of Galbadia, and is responsible for the numerous hardships his lands have encountered. The Forest Owls, a rebel faction in Galbadia, are more opposed to Deling than they are to Galbadia itself. Vinzer is also a crafty man, dodging numerous assasination attempts easily. One of his so called "dodges" had me stuck for a week >:(. As much as he would like to believe, however, Deling is not in control of Galbadia. Edea the witch, who is undoubtedly also controlling Deling himself, quickly claims power in Galbadia. Even should Deling outlive Edea, power would just be assumed by Edea's faithful Sorceress Knight.

All in all, while Deling is a despicable creature, he's no Shinra.
